About The Position

Baltimore Medical System (BMS) is a community-based, nonprofit organization that provides quality primary/outpatient care services in the Greater Baltimore area. BMS is the largest FQHC in Maryland, and we offer a variety of comprehensive primary and behavioral health services through five (5) community health centers and eight (8) school-based health centers. Current Employees Must Apply Through Their Kronos Employee Account The Community Outreach Worker for Baltimore for Healthy Babies will engage in community outreach through participation in health fairs, community events, and meetings with partner organizations. The Outreach Worker will provide one-on-one education, as well as group presentations, regarding B'more for Healthy Babies themes, such as Safe Sleep, Smoke-Free Homes, and Access to Care. The Outreach Worker should be familiar with community resources available in Baltimore County and City, comfortable leading groups like Mom's Club and assisting families in connecting to these resources. Families without access to primary care will be referred to BMS services. The Outreach Worker will develop and maintain relationships with community organizations to disseminate and support the work of Baltimore for Healthy Babies. Communication skills are required outside of the workgroup to facilitate work groups, resolve conflict, persuade, or negotiate. Represents the company externally and provides information on a variety of programs/services. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with Baltimore Medical System Core Values, policies/ procedures, and applicable civil laws.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Current MD Driver's license and personal vehicle required.
  • 1 year experience in community outreach in the Southeast Baltimore area
