About The Position

A Community Outreach Specialist will be responsible for providing students with transportation to and from Dragonfly IOP sessions in an efficient, safe, and timely manner. This position also requires weekly outreach efforts throughout the community. In addition to maintaining regular cleaning services for the vehicles.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma)
  • Valid AZDPS Fingerprint Clearance card.
  • Current valid CPR and First Aid certification.
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) & ESR (Emergency Service Response) certification.
  • Current Drivers license
  • A minimal knowledge of contemporary substance abuse treatment practices in a residential setting.
  • Ability to relate to residents effectively.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to maintain sensitivity and objectively under pressure generated through association with substance abuse students.
  • Always operate from a position of integrity and conduct oneself as a role model at all times
  • Ability to thrive in an environment that requires one to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to professionally work under pressure with difficult or temperamental students & faculty.
  • Ability to handle mental and emotional stress related to the position.

Responsibilities

  • Drive students to a designated pick up and drop off point to attend Dragonfly IOP sessions.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with potential students and referral sources
  • Spending 10-15 hours a week doing active outreach in the community
  • Coordinate all trips leaving the facility each day.
  • Coordinate cleaning, maintenance and repairs on vehicles.
  • Keep all vehicles clean and presentable.
  • Ensure safety of all passengers; safety belts, etc.
  • At all times, adhere to safety standards and regulations established by the Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicles Division.
  • Understand and appropriately apply Amity policies and procedures, and adhere to agency wide practices and regulations.
  • Protect students' health, safety, welfare, and confidentiality of records and information.
  • Work with fleet coordinator in maintaining vehicle logs and files.
  • Ensure vehicle keys are in a secure location with limited access.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
