Community at the Center. From classrooms and camps to civic groups and partner organizations, you’ll be the face of HSSC—sharing our mission and expanding access to humane care. Program Ownership. You’ll lead humane education, oversee pet therapy and the community pet food pantry, and continuously improve programs that directly impact lives. Collaborative Culture. Requirements

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, people-facing role with lots of moving parts
  • Bring compassion, professionalism, and emotional resilience to sensitive situations
  • Are organized, creative, and comfortable juggling programs, volunteers, and events
  • Communicate clearly—in person, in writing, and across teams
  • Can safely and humanely work with cats and dogs of varying sizes and temperaments
  • Have reliable transportation and flexibility for occasional evenings/weekends
  • Full-time, exempt/salaried position
  • 40 hours per week; occasional evenings and weekends required
  • Department: Advancement | Reports to Senior Director of Advancement

Responsibilities

  • Deliver humane education programs to children and adults, adapting content for schools, camps, civic groups, and community audiences.
  • Develop curricula, outreach materials, presentations, and reports that tell the story of HSSC’s impact.
  • Oversee the pet therapy program and community pet food pantry, ensuring respectful, dignified, and humane service delivery.
  • Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners—and occasionally bring approved animal ambassadors along for the lesson.
  • Support outreach-related logistics, calendars, reporting, and coordination with Advancement leadership.
  • Most weeks are Monday–Friday, but community events, weekends, or evenings may call your name.
