About The Position

Help us redefine what is possible and make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with Autism! Bittersweet, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides residential, vocational, and recreational services to individuals with autism. Bittersweet is seeking a Community Outreach Coordinator (COC) to work full time at our Whitehouse location as well as various community-based locations. The COC will coordinate & implement community-based social recreational programs offered in the Northwest Ohio area to adolescents and adults with autism. The COC will also coordinate and oversee Bittersweet’s 6-week summer camp for adolescents with autism. The Bittersweet Volunteer Program opportunities and needs will also be coordinated by the COC. The COC will present informational presentations & attend tabling events throughout the community. The COC will supervise a small pool of staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Willingness & capability to get Medication Delegation certified
  • Three years' experience as a Direct Support Professional
  • Two years of related experience (leadership, social recreation, scheduling)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work flexible hours (including evenings & weekends)
  • Ability to work independently
  • The desired person will be positive, energetic, and customer-service focused. Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are needed to succeed.
