About The Position
The Office of Public Works is seeking an individual to educate the public including businesses, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and neighborhood associations on the importance and benefits of trees. The role involves creating a corps of volunteer Tree Advocates within the City, with a priority on neighborhoods that have low tree equity. The individual will serve as a liaison between the Office of Public Works and the community regarding tree planting and maintenance, focusing on neighborhoods with low tree equity. Additionally, the position requires the development of an outreach program for marginalized neighborhoods and conducting educational programs. The individual will also supervise temporary arbor seasonal workers.
