About The Position

Hennepin County Public Health's Red Door Clinic is seeking a Community Outreach and Prevention Supervisor. This position will supervise a dynamic team of Community Health Specialists who conduct outreach, education, and testing in communities experiencing disparities around HIV and other sexually transmitted infections; coordinate the clinic's HIV PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) program; and facilitate Ryan White funded HIV care linkage services to individuals who are newly diagnosed and those who are out of care. The Community Outreach and Prevention Supervisor is a member of the Red Door Clinic's leadership team and participates in clinic-wide strategies aimed at improving services and adapting to feedback. Providing trauma-informed LGBTQ+ affirming care and reflective supervision will be a foundation of the role. The Red Door Clinic is Minnesota's largest HIV and sexually transmitted infection clinic and has been providing culturally sensitive and sexually affirming services for more than 50 years. Requirements

  • One of the following: Six years or more of professional work experience in a related program area, or a Bachelor's degree or higher in public health, public administration, community health, environmental health, nursing, behavioral/social science or other field appropriate to the position and two years or more of professional work experience in a related program area.
  • Access to reliable transportation to travel within the Twin Cities metro area.

  • Experience supervising a team providing work direction, support, and performance management.
  • Experience writing funding applications and completing grant reports.

Responsibilities

  • Manage operations of the Ryan White & PrEP programs and the implementation of all contracted grant duties and activities including analysis of grant and contractual obligations within the Centers for Disease Control, Minnesota Department of Health, and Ryan White federal guidelines.
  • Supervise, hire, and train a team of Community Health Specialists who provide HIV/Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) public health program services including HIV testing in clinical and community settings; HIV care linkage and navigation services; HIV PrEP and nPEP (non-occupational post-exposure prophylaxis); and population specific programming to communities who are disproportionately affected by HIV and other sexually transmitted infections.
  • Monitor expenditures, revenue, program invoicing, budget preparation, and provide other required financial reports in conjunction with Public Health Accounting.
  • Focus resources and interventions to impact health disparities among critically affected populations of color, including the current HIV outbreak affecting unstably housed populations and individuals who inject drugs.
  • Work with a diverse, interdisciplinary team that includes outreach, care navigation, PrEP, syringe services, and clinicians to develop team goals, assess workforce needs, establish performance outcomes, maximize performance results, plan for implementation of programs, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
  • Facilitate continuous process improvement and the culturally sensitive responsiveness of systems to respond to the needs of marginalized communities disproportionately impacted by STIs and HIV infections by determining needs and improvements; developing outreach plans & procedures; and evaluating outcomes.
  • Participate as an active member of the Red Door Clinic management team and the larger Public Health managers/supervisors' team; serve as representative of the department, service area, and Red Door Clinic to internal and external audiences.
  • Provide leadership to further department-based strategies that align with county goals, mission and core values for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
