About The Position

UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE DIRECTOR OF RESIDENT SERVICES AND IN CLOSE COLLABORATION WITH PROPERTY MANAGEMENT, THE COMMUNITY NAVIGATOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATING AND DELIVERING COMMUNITY-CENTERED SERVICES THAT SUPPORT HOUSING STABILITY AND RESIDENTS’ FINANCIAL, SOCIAL, AND WELLNESS NEEDS. THIS ROLE MANAGES THE DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS OF RESIDENT PROGRAMMING, INCLUDING ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES, WORKSHOPS, CLASSES, COMMUNITY EVENTS, AND FOOD ACCESS INITIATIVES. THROUGH OUTREACH, RESOURCE NAVIGATION, AND SERVICE COORDINATION, THE COMMUNITY NAVIGATOR BUILDS TRUSTED RELATIONSHIPS WITH RESIDENTS, COLLEAGUES, AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS. PERFORMANCE IN THIS ROLE IS EVALUATED BASED ON CONSISTENT RESIDENT ENGAGEMENT, ACCURATE REPORTING, EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION, AND A SOLUTIONS-ORIENTED APPROACH. THIS POSITION FOCUSES ON PRACTICAL SUPPORT, RELATIONSHIP-BUILDING, AND COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMMING TO HELP RESIDENTS ACCESS RESOURCES, STRENGTHEN STABILITY, AND INCREASE COMMUNITY CONNECTION. THIS ROLE DOES NOT PROVIDE CLINICAL SERVICES.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience in community work, social services, housing, or resident support.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with diverse populations.
  • Ability to organize events and manage multiple responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • College coursework or degree in a related field.
  • Case management or navigation experience.
  • Spanish language skills.

Responsibilities

  • Meet one-on-one with residents to provide navigation and referrals related to Housing Stability and Rental Assistance, Financial Wellness services, Employment and Education programs, SNAP and other food access programs, Health & Wellness programs, Healthcare access, Youth and other Community resources
  • Assist residents with completing applications and understanding next steps.
  • Maintain clear boundaries by referring clinical, crisis, or therapeutic needs to appropriate partners.
  • Maintain regular office hours and walk-in availability for residents.
  • Conduct property walks and proactive outreach to connect residents with services.
  • Support partnership program events at property
  • Plan and facilitate community events such as Resource Fairs, Game/Movie nights, Arts and Crafts events, Seasonal celebrations (back to School, Holiday etc...), and Informal community-building activities
  • Contribute to and distribute a monthly resident newsletter highlighting events, resources, and updates.
  • Coordinate food distributions, clothing drives, toy drives and other resident support initiatives.
  • Support implementation of resident-focused programs in collaboration with the Resident Services team.
  • Maintain and update a centralized list of community resources and partners.
  • Complete internal, non-clinical case notes and intake forms as required.
  • Track resident engagement, program participation, and outreach activities.
  • Share data and insights with the Director of Resident Services to support program planning and reporting.
  • Work closely with Property Management and other internal teams to support resident stability and engagement.
  • Coordinate with external partners and service providers as needed.
