About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Community Mortgage Bank Sales Consultant (SAFE) in Consumer Lending as part of Home Lending. This role involves originating mortgage loans within assigned bank branches, collaborating with branch leadership, and mentoring employees to enhance their understanding of mortgage products and processes. The consultant will also conduct outreach to customers, analyze their needs, and provide high-quality service while adhering to compliance and underwriting requirements.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 2+ years of mortgage retail sales experience (desired).
  • Expertise in general lending products and overall mortgage industry experience (desired).
  • Experience with retail residential mortgage, purchase fundings over the past 12 months (desired).
  • Established relationships with diverse realtor organizations and affordable lending nonprofits in assigned market (desired).
  • Experience with community loan products, including specialized LMI mortgage solutions (desired).
  • FHA/VA & conventional loan experience (preferred).
  • Knowledge and understanding of sales prospecting and generating referrals (desired).
  • Experience with educating clients on various mortgage purchase programs (desired).
  • Experience developing and cultivating professional relationships (desired).
  • Customer service experience (desired).
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills (desired).
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills (desired).
  • Ability to provide leadership by coaching, training, and mentoring (desired).
  • Bilingual speaking proficiency in Spanish (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Sit within assigned bank branches and originate mortgage loans.
  • Collaborate with branch leadership and participate in branch huddles.
  • Mentor and coach employees to increase knowledge of mortgage products and processes.
  • Conduct outbound calls to existing and prospective customers regarding mortgage loan products.
  • Interact with customers to understand their needs and provide high-quality customer service.
  • Inform customers of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage programs and analyze mortgage loan products based on client needs.
  • Process loan applications for mortgage transactions and review rates and terms within guidelines.
  • Maintain high standards of client satisfaction and quality through timely and proactive communication.
  • Pursue Wells Fargo training offerings to increase knowledge of company products, policies, and procedures.
  • Adhere to policies, underwriting requirements, compliance requirements, and loan procedures.
  • Collaborate with fulfillment partners to meet client needs throughout the origination process.
  • Stay informed of mortgage industry trends and developments in the assigned market.
