About The Position

The Community Manager is responsible for the overall performance and daily operations of a residential apartment community. This role oversees leasing, maintenance, financial performance, and resident satisfaction while leading on-site team members. The Community Manager ensures the community meets company standards and upholds the values and service expectations of Decron Properties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business, Real Estate, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in multi-family residential property management, including at least 2 years managing multiple locations
  • Strong financial and operational acumen
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in property management software (e.g., Yardi, RealPage)
  • In-depth knowledge of Fair Housing laws, landlord-tenant regulations, and budgeting
  • Ability to work weekends or extended hours as needed

Nice To Haves

  • CAM or ARM certification
  • Experience managing communities with 150+ units

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to all on-site team members
  • Oversee day-to-day operations at the assigned residential community
  • Develop, manage, and analyze budgets, occupancy, collections, and expenses for each community
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, occupancy, rent collection, and expenses
  • Conduct regular property inspections
  • Lead hiring decisions and staff scheduling, performance management, and staff development
  • Monitor and address resident satisfaction, concerns, and retention
  • Ensure communities comply with Fair Housing, OSHA, local regulations, and company policies
  • Partner with maintenance team to maintain physical asset condition and service response times
  • Report on performance metrics and strategic updates to Residential Portfolio Manager
  • Maintain consistent communication with Residential Portfolio Manager regarding community needs
  • Support marketing efforts across communities during lease-up or high-turnover periods
  • Assist with staff recruitment and onboarding as needed
  • Participate in company-wide initiatives, training, and events as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
