About The Position

The Community Manager will have a proven track record of successfully managing multifamily properties, including HUD properties, utilizing superior communication skills and a positive attitude. Community Managers directly supervise the property’s on-site staff to ensure implementation of all corporate policies and procedures. Responsibilities include preparing accurate and timely reports detailing cash flow, budget variances, market studies, and business strategies. The Community Manager will assist in developing annual budgets, managing expenses, and achieving company goals, including revenue, occupancy, and social programs. They will work with the Regional Manager and corporate team to review and inspect all capital replacement plans, maintain detailed knowledge of the local market and competition, and develop tailored marketing plans. The role also involves vendor management, tenant relations, resident services, routine legal matters, fair housing and legal compliance, process improvement, employee reviews, and site inspections.

Requirements

  • At least three (3) years prior experience in on-site multifamily property management.
  • At least one (1) year as a Property Manager / Community Manager of a Tax Credit community.
  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Professional Designation or Certification in property management (e.g., CPM, ARM, CAM, TCS, HCCP, SCHM).
  • Prior experience with affordable housing programs.
  • Proficiency with Yardi property management software or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, retain, manage, and lead personnel.
  • 1+ years prior experience evaluating employee performance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state legal developments.
  • Assist in ongoing process improvement.
  • Review performance and recommend employee compensation decisions.
  • Inspect the property regularly to assure marketability.
