About The Position

This position is heavy in Community Interfacing. Job Goal: The Community Liaison serves as a strategic ambassador for the coalition, leading efforts to increase awareness, engagement, and utilization of Healthy Start services. This role is responsible for driving prenatal and postnatal screening participation by cultivating strong relationships with healthcare providers, community partners, and families. Through targeted outreach, marketing, and collaboration, the Community Liaison advances the coalition's mission as the leading resource in maternal, paternal, and infant health across Hardee, Highlands & Polk Counties. Position Description: The Community Liaison drives awareness, engagement, and growth of Healthy Start services by building and expanding strategic relationships with healthcare providers, community partners, local businesses, and organizations. This results-driven role focuses on increasing prenatal and infant screening rates and expanding program reach across Hardee, Highlands, and Polk Counties. Success is measured by increased screenings, stronger partnerships, expanded community presence and meaningful stakeholder engagement. The Community Liaison also contributes to the growth of private funding by cultivating philanthropic relationships, representing the coalition in donor-facing spaces, and supporting strategies that increase recurring and major gift investments. The ideal candidate is a confident communicator and relationship builder who thrives in the field, takes initiative, and consistently turns connections into measurable outcomes that advance maternal, paternal, and infant health.

Requirements

  • Interpersonal skills require courtesy, tact, confidentiality, and empathy always, to communicate effectively and convey information to clients, business partners and co-workers.
  • Reliable transportation, valid drivers license, clean driving record, and current automobile coverage.
  • Ability to travel routinely throughout Hardee, Highlands, and Polk Counties and attend statewide or national meetings as needed.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends when required (flex time provided).

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree (BA or BS preferred) with knowledge of Community Relations, Public Health, Health Education, Health Planning, and maternal, paternal, and child health experience preferred
