About The Position

The CI-ERC Service Coordinator will help facilitate daily recreational and education activities such as sports, games, musical activities, art, cognitive workshops, and accompany the youth on outings and special events. The SC will also oversee youth in community service projects and encourage and ensure youth participation. The SC will assist with transportation by dropping youth off at the completion of programming. He/she will interact with youth, their families, schools, probation officers and other stakeholders in the youth’s life maintaining close contact. He/she will act as a champion for the youth and help encourage the youth to complete the reporting requirements and all court ordered stipulations. Primary staff in charge of monitoring and reporting out on school and program attendance.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • 1 or more years of experience working with children, youth and families in a social services setting
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel at the intermediate to advanced level
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Must be a team player, patient and flexible
  • Demonstrated ability to complete multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in child welfare preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise youth during program hours to always ensure safety of young people and ensure adherence to the rules and principles.
  • Provide role modeling to adolescent population.
  • Facilitate daily activities for youth residents
  • Transport youth to group activities, home and/or to individual appointments (as needed)
  • Serve as co-facilitators for Cognitive Behavior Change groups, supervise the dinner and recreation hour, as well as help to develop any new cultural, educational, or social activities as they see fit
  • Monitor and facilitate all “non-group” and “recreation” time
  • Conduct Intakes with families within 48 hours of referral
  • Contacts youth within 24 hours of referral
  • Visit child and family monthly in home (or in a setting unrelated to the ERC program).
  • Engage family to enhance youth resiliency
  • Provide case management support to ensure youth successfully completes program and has resource supports post discharge
  • Prepare court sheets and attend court hearings (if applicable)
  • Maintain and submit accurate, timely documentation
  • Support youth to acquire all vital records prior to program discharge
  • Regular visits with educational institutions (schools) on behalf of youth
  • Monitor and document (in credible software system) daily client attendance, send required reports to Probation, DHS and internal management team, and any youth not meeting attendance requirements according to program and city policy, home visit need to be conducted in accordance with ERC policy.
