About The Position

We’re currently seeking Community Inclusion Professionals – Floaters to join our team! In this role, you'll work entirely in community-based settings, providing culturally responsive direct support to individuals with disabilities. As a Floater, you’ll fill in for team members across various locations throughout San Diego County, offering flexible support wherever it's needed most. Location: San Diego Area Pay: The pay for this position is $21.50 to $22.15. Who you are: Come with a passion for excellence in helping others grow Flexible and adaptable to different situations Have an educator mindset Take pride in being a reliable and relatable member of a team Invested in working with adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities A typical day will include: Providing culturally appropriate direct support to participants using person-centered approaches and strategies that fully engage and include participants in each aspect of their daily life, have maximum choice and control, and gain independence. This can take many forms in 100% community based settings including: Support and motivation to reach individual goals and objectives. Engage and assist with vocational supports, personal care, as well as meaningful activities that cater to the participant’s individual interest, preferences, and choices; teaching as necessary. Assistance with self-help needs including in the areas of grooming, hygiene, toileting, feeding and mobility as needed. Proactively identifying and facilitating job, training, volunteer or other community activities for program participants. What you’ll need to be successful: Demonstrated knowledge relating to the rights and support services for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Valid CA Driver’s License with clean driving record Immediate access to a vehicle with working seat belts (own vehicle) to transport clients with appropriate insurance coverage Ability to lift 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge relating to the rights and support services for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Valid CA Driver’s License with clean driving record
  • Immediate access to a vehicle with working seat belts (own vehicle) to transport clients with appropriate insurance coverage
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Have experience with electronic case management systems (Therap)
  • Had 6 or more months of prior hands-on experience with persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities
