The Community Impact Officer will play a key role in expanding the Credit Union's impact by deepening engagement with existing schools and community partners. Responsible for growing and strengthening Campus Branches and community partnerships within their designated region, ensuring that the Credit Union's presence and impact continue to increase among members and partner organizations. Serves as an ambassador at community events and programs, actively represents the Credit Union, fostering meaningful connections and promoting organizational values.

Requirements

  • One to three years of similar or related experience.
  • A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work my involve motivating, influencing or training others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
  • Specific, distinct department or functional policies, criteria, and goals guide independent judgment and decision making. There is significant discretion available in the job requiring interpretation of specific policies, laws, and theories. Makes daily operational decisions but requires concurrence on out of budget or other issues affecting strategic direction.
  • Ability to work in an environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and initiative.
  • Must possess strong public speaking skills and be able to effectively communicate in front of groups of any size.
  • Must have valid driver's license with a clean driving record and access to reliable transportation. Must carry proof of insurance and vehicle registration in vehicle at all times while on Credit Union business. Employee is responsible for notifying the Credit Union of driving record changes.

Nice To Haves

  • CCUFC (Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor) designation preferred. If not currently certified, must obtain or recertify designation within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for financial education and campus branch operations within assigned region, cultivate and enhance school and community relationships to expand on education impact.
  • Proactively assist Campus Branch staff with the resources and tools to mitigate problems, errors in balancing and member complaints.
  • Use sound judgment to escalate issues and concerns to supervisor as necessary.
  • Coordinate and conduct classroom presentations and financial reality fairs for local schools to provide personal financial information/education to students.
  • Cultivate relationships with community partners within assigned region; promote iQ Credit Union membership as a benefit to partner employees.
  • Create and update financial education materials and curriculum.
  • Develop and assist with education related programs offered by the Credit Union including iQ Campus Branches, financial literacy curriculum, Bite of Reality Fairs, and Read With Me.
  • Support and lead financial literacy projects.
  • Stay apprised of industry resources and best practices.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase community outreach and identify new financial education presentation opportunities through cold calls to potential companies, use of email marketing campaigns in HubSpot and networking on-site at community partner locations.
  • Conduct frequent weekday visits to assigned Campus Branch sites to provide support, coverage during instructor absences, and assess operational and training needs.
  • Represent the Credit Union at various events, and perform public relations at civic, community, and networking events.
  • Organize and host activations at community events, partner locations, and public venues to promote the credit union.
  • Engage attendees through interactive experiences and education outreach.
  • Ensure timely and professional follow up with all leads and collaborate with internal teams to report on outcomes and improve engagement.
  • Develop programs to increase and track membership penetration rate; schedule, facilitate, and promote the Credit Union through presentations and on-site visits at community partner locations and community events.
  • Regularly meet with non-profits within assigned region and deepen relationships.
  • Serve on their boards and committees, plan staff volunteer events benefiting community partners, and coordinate on-site events in partnership with Credit Union subject matter experts.
  • Promote Credit Union products and services and utilize sales, referral, and services skills to respond to the needs of businesses, schools, non-profit organizations, members, vendors, and internal customers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Analyze partner needs; create a sales strategy and formalized plan that will add value for the specific organization.
  • Analyze effectiveness of sales strategies, prepare periodic reports and tracking trends; and make necessary adjustments to the business development plan.
  • Analyze needs for area and submit budgets items to management for budget preparation; work with the Marketing department and vendors to order items for rea, monitor and submit invoices to management for budget maintenance.
  • Demonstrate strong regulatory knowledge applicable to this position and understand and comply with government regulations with particular emphasis on the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US Patriot Act and related regulations.
  • Actively participate and fulfill expectations in the Credit Union Email Security Awareness Program as outlined in the Information Security Program Acknowledgement document.
