About The Position

The Community Impact Manager will manage UWLC grantmaking processes, child care scholarships, and early literacy initiatives. The Manager will work directly with recipients of these programs and will be responsible for providing technical assistance and resource navigation. The Manager will implement strategies around program expansion, improvement, and community engagement. The Manager plays a central role in aligning grant strategy with UWLC's broader impact agenda, supporting community-led decision-making, and cultivating collaborative, trust-based relationships with grantees and scholarship recipients. Additionally, the Manager facilitates community grantmaking processes and collaborates across departments to ensure data-driven program improvement, increased community engagement, and sustainable impact.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in administering community-based grantmaking.
  • Community engagement and/or relationship building experience is highly desired.
  • Experience with child care systems, early literacy, or family financial stability work preferred.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is a key asset for this role.
  • Proficiency in overseeing grant and scholarship cycles from initiation to completion.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with individuals and organizations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Experience in using grantmaking software applications and survey tools is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint is expected (proficient in Excel).
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new concepts, navigate complex systems, and proactively identify solutions.

  • Supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Genuine passion for the non-profit sector and alignment with the organization's mission and values.
  • Experience in grassroots organizing, volunteer coordination, and community-based work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full grantmaking lifecycle, including contract execution, budget and report monitoring, internal data tracking, and provide technical assistance to grantees.
  • Manage the collection, analysis, and use of grant-related data to assess outcomes, support learning, and drive continuous improvement across programs and strategies.
  • Coordinate grantmaking and partner engagement strategies to align with UWLC's impact agenda, working closely with the Community Engagement Team and organizational leadership.
  • Facilitate community grantmaking processes and serve as the primary point of contact for community partners.
  • Develop and maintain strong, trusted relationships with community members and partners; elevate community voice to inform decisions and support power sharing in impact work.
  • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to advance community impact efforts.
