About The Position

The 2026 Summer Internship Program will run from May 18, 2026, through August 7, 2026. Candidates must be available to start on May 18 and participate through the duration of the program. Who Are We? The Community Impact Intern supports The Toro Company Foundation in its mission to strengthen communities and foster employee engagement. This role plays a key part in leading our signature Field Rebuild Program and helps amplify our story. This role also will co-create a communication process across the enterprise with our internal Foundation “Giving Ambassadors” and support overall Land. Water. Thrive storytelling efforts across channels. Creating meaningful community impact—and sharing that impact—is a central priority for our work.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the President of The Toro Company Foundation on Field Rebuild Projects, including helping plan and execute the following community impact projects:
  • - Minnesota Twins Community Fund Ball Field Rebuild (St. Paul, MN)
  • - Minnesota United FC Community Project (St. Paul, MN)
  • - Additional 1–2 community impact projects in the Twin Cities
  • Collaborate with our Communications Team to support storytelling efforts:
  • - Develop communication plans for all Field Rebuild projects
  • - Support internal and external communication to share project outcomes, community impact, and employee engagement
  • -Capture and help communicate compelling stories that highlight the value of The Toro Company’s Foundation’s work
  • In partnership with the President of The Toro Company Foundation, the Public Relations Specialist and Giving Ambassadors, lead efforts to refresh the Giving Ambassador Program, and leverage their knowledge in the local communities.
  • - Survey the Giving Ambassadors and gather insights, feedback and ideas. Recommend a structure for working with the Giving Ambassadors in terms of grant review process, communications with local media, and training they express interest in.
  • - Include the local marketing managers in discovering ways we can work together to best tell our full impact and celebrate the local nonprofit organizations that are at the heart of the community.
  • - Create a tool kit or needed resources for our Giving Ambassadors, so that they can more easily tell our story and gather all “giving stories” so we can tell the full story of our positive impact in the communities where are employees work and live.
  • In partnership with the Public Relations Specialist, develop communications plan for equipment program recipients across global locations, ensuring consistent and impactful messaging
  • - Collaborate with Giving Ambassadors and marketing teams to share authentic stories that highlight the positive impact in local communities
  • - Develop a dynamic content strategy to keep www.thetorocompany.com and internal VHQ updated with annual program, leveraging engaging formats such as photography, blogs, etc.

  • Competitive Pay – anticipated pay range $18.00-$25.00 per hour.
