About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Community Health Specialist works to improve the health status of the community through supporting care for the whole person. The Community Health Specialist works with community organizations, faith-based organizations and key stakeholders to promote awareness and engagement in OSF HealthCare(OSF) community outreach initiatives; as well as assisting in coordination, implementation and awareness of outreach initiatives. This position is also responsible for operations of the mobile health unit.
This is a part- time position.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, healthcare, social services, community development or a related field
• Two years' experience in the healthcare, social services or community development.
• Maintains acceptable driving record as set forth by OSF Automotive Services Driver Criteria.
• Current and appropriate State Driver's License.
• Class C - non CDL Driver's license obtained upon start date.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Advance care planning or related training
• Class C-non CDL Driver's license
• N/A
