We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Community Health Rep. Together Growing Strong (TGS) is a community-based initiative within The Department of Population Health in the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. The goal of TGS is to strengthen early childhood health and wellbeing by supporting families, providers, and educators in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The TGS team values the different cultures in Sunset Park and takes an anti-racist approach to its work. The Community Health Worker will be part of the TGS special education ambassador pilot program team. We are seeking a Community Health Rep to become the go-to person for special education among families in the Chinese community within Sunset Park. The Community Health Rep is a new position as a Special Education ambassador who will be an integral part of a team working to improve the way children in Sunset Park go through the special education process and transition their Individualized Education Program (IEP) from prekindergarten programs to kindergarten.
