About The Position

Overview: Supports the development of policies and procedures for the Safe Babies Approach - support for young children (0-3) and their families who are involved, or are at risk for involvement, in the child welfare system. Engages families early in the Safe Babies process and ensure that their input is valued throughout their journey. Networks and communicates with Community Coordinators in other Safe Babies communities. Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines. Job Description Summary: Coordinates and implements community-based programs that promote health, safety, and well-being for children and families. Facilitates collaboration, supports education and advocacy efforts, and ensures program effectiveness through strategic planning and continuous improvement. Job Description: Essential Functions: Leads the planning, delivery, and evaluation of initiatives that address family safety, child development, and social determinants of health. Builds and maintains relationships with school, government, healthcare, and community partners, collaborating to support integrated service delivery and systems change. Develops and delivers educational content and presentations for families, professionals, and community stakeholders. Collaborates to assess community needs, monitor program outcomes, and contribute to quality improvement efforts through data collection, analysis, and reporting. Assists in resource identification and other administrative functions to support program implementation and maintenance. Engages in advocacy efforts to improve outcomes for children and families. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Social Work, Public Health, Health Administration, or related field, required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Effective analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of child development and advocacy.
  • Working knowledge of local community resources and services.
  • Five years of relevant work experience, required.
  • Program administration and project management experience, required.
  • Experience in advocacy or community-based initiatives, required.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy.
