The Community Health Manager leads the Food Bank’s efforts to address the intersection of food insecurity and health across our 34-county service area. This role manages innovative programs, including Food is Medicine initiatives, healthcare partnerships, and community-driven interventions, that reduce health disparities and improve access to nutritious foods. By collaborating with internal teams and external partners, the Manager strengthens systems that support equitable food access and advances the Food Bank’s mission to nourish people, build solutions, and empower communities .

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, Public Health, or relevant field required.  An equivalent combination of education and directly related professional experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
• ServSafe Manager’s Certification required or eligible to complete within 90 days of employment.
• 3+ years working with Food is Medicine, Medicaid, and social determinants of health.
• 4+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.

• Technical Proficiency – Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfortable learning new technology platforms (e.g., CRM, data reporting tools, inventory systems).
• Exceptional Communication Skills – Strong written, verbal, and presentation abilities; able to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling messages for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support the organization in identifying and onboarding new initiatives that support Food is Medicine work and expand community partnerships across 34-county service area to enable mobilization of initiatives.
• Lead partnership development, program growth, and organization initiatives for all Healthcare and Community Health Programming.
• Supervise assigned staff to ensure timely and quality implementation of projects, programs, and interventions.
• Provide coaching and development opportunities to direct reports to build capacity and leadership.
• Manage the execution of all programmatic interventions and external collaborations for Community Health Programming (including but not limited to - Healthcare Partners, Health Coalitions, and other stakeholders) within 34-counties.
• Establish metrics and evaluate program effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative data.
• Participate in budget creation and ensure funding utilization for all programs and grants, maintain records for reporting, and provide quarterly reports to organizational leadership.
• Oversee all Community Health product inventory and materials to ensure program effectiveness across all 6 branches.
• Provide excellent customer service to all neighbors, staff, donors, partner agencies, volunteers, and the public.
