The Community Health Improvement Intern will support specific community health improvement and community engagement initiatives in alignment with the Allina Health Community Benefit & Engagement strategy.

  • Support Change to Chill, Allina Health’s mental well-being program, and activities associated with substance use primary prevention grant administered by the Opioid Epidemic Response Advisory Council (OERAC) at the Minnesota Department of Human Services (MN DHS).
  • Assist with substance use primary prevention content development for changetochill.org, including reviewing and providing feedback prior to publication.
  • Assist with marketing and promotion efforts for newly developed content utilizing a variety of communication channels internal and external to Allina Health.
  • Advise on and support implementation of newly developed content with youth audiences, including in schools, Allina Health clinical services, and other youth-focused community settings.
  • Advise on sustainability planning beyond grant period, with a focus on ongoing youth engagement.
  • Conduct literature reviews and prepare best practices for content development and implementation.
  • Support collection of community feedback on newly developed content and validate findings generated by external evaluator.
  • Assist with grant report writing.
  • Support additional evaluation activities as needed.
  • Support grant Advisory Group meeting facilitation, communication, and notetaking.
  • Provide additional administrative support as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding written and oral presentation skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in public health, community health, social work, communications, or related field.
