About The Position

The Community and Government Relations Liaison supports the execution of Kettering Health’s government relations and advocacy strategy by providing legislative monitoring, executive communication support, and stakeholder engagement coordination at the local and state levels. The role also helps facilitate, build, and maintain relationships with key community leaders. This role ensures Kettering Health remains informed, prepared, and professionally represented in interactions with public officials, community leaders, and key external stakeholders. The position operates at the intersection of policy, community engagement, and executive support — translating complex legislative and regulatory developments into actionable insights for hospital presidents and system leadership. The Liaison serves as a trusted partner to Community Partnerships & Advocacy leadership, supporting disciplined relationship management, issue tracking, and advocacy coordination that advances Kettering Health’s strategic priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, public health, communications, or a related field.
  • Experience3–5 years of professional experience in government relations, public affairs, advocacy, or related roles.

Responsibilities

  • Reports directly to the Director, Community Partnerships & Advocacy.
  • Works closely with Hospital Presidents, system executives, and cross-functional leaders.
  • Requires flexibility to attend evening or off-site events.
  • Involves participation in local, state, and occasional national meetings (e.g., OHA, AHA, AHPA).
  • High-visibility role requiring professionalism, discretion, and political awareness.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information quickly and accurately.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication tailored to executive and policy audiences.
  • Strong organizational discipline and follow-through.
  • Demonstrates nonpartisan, mission-aligned engagement consistent with Kettering Health’s values.
