About The Position

STATION Austin is a new nonprofit dedicated to empowering tech entrepreneurs in the heart of Texas. We’re looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Senior Event Specialist to execute programming that directly supports our members on their entrepreneurial journeys, helping them build relationships, access critical insights, and unlock new opportunities. As a core member of the Community Engagement Team, you will bring the STATION Austin member experience to life through events that connect founders, mentors, investors, and partners—from curated roundtables and office hours to large-scale activations at Fed Supernova, CF House during SXSW, and Austin Tech Week. Your work will ensure that every interaction at STATION Austin feels intentional, valuable, and worth coming back for. The ideal candidate is a strong operator who can manage multiple moving pieces, communicate clearly across teams, and deliver consistently high-quality experiences that deepen engagement and strengthen our community.

  • You are a problem solver. You look for ways to make things work better and how to turn chaos into systems.
  • You are organized and plan ahead, but you don’t get stressed out when things change at the last minute… because they will. You roll with it.
  • You check your email in the evenings and are available to work during evening events and over the weekends when there is a tight deadline. You do what it takes to get the job done.
  • You have a reliable laptop computer & smartphone that you are comfortable using for work.
  • You plan to stay in Texas for at least two years.

Responsibilities

  • Execute high-quality programming for members and mentors, including VC Speaker Series, Critical Technology Series, and other curated, invite-only events.
  • Own the planning and execution of member-focused events such as roundtables, office hours, and small-group gatherings that drive meaningful connections.
  • Manage office-level member and mentor activation during cornerstone events (e.g., SXSW, Austin Tech Week, Fed Supernova), ensuring strong engagement and clear ways to participate.
  • Coordinate speakers and participants, including scheduling, briefing materials, run-of-show, and on-site support.
  • Handle end-to-end event logistics, including timelines, communications, setup, and day-of execution working hand-in hand with the Venue and Events team to ensure seamless execution
  • Collaborate with the Community Engagement Manager and STATION Austin Managing Director to refine programming based on member needs.
  • Serve as a front-line host, ensuring a high-quality, professional experience for all attendees.
