About The Position

The Community Engagement Strategist supports the development, alignment, execution, and evaluation of community engagement strategies from conception to implementation. This role works in partnership with leaders to design and implement Atrium Health's community engagement strategy and action plan to achieve defined goals across the Central Mecklenburg Area, including Central Charlotte. The strategist cultivates and manages long-term relationships that influence Atrium Health's reputation, awareness, and social impact with teammates, patients, and community partners. The position requires strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, and relationship management to ensure success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as public relations, public health, human services, communications, marketing, business, or public policy.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in community relations, non-profit management, corporate giving, or corporate responsibility.
  • Familiarity with corporate social responsibility programs and local community organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of defined community engagement programs.
  • Manage a wide range of relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Utilize community engagement tracking and reporting tools to maintain records and develop reports.
  • Participate in meetings and events related to community engagement.
  • Represent Atrium Health on internal and external community coalitions.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with community stakeholders.
  • Communicate and prioritize community investment opportunities.
  • Identify healthcare and community engagement trends.
  • Support the development of an execution model for community engagement.
  • Participate in reporting on programs using defined key performance indicators.
  • Evaluate and recommend research to ensure effectiveness of community engagement campaigns.
  • Reinforce the organization's brand identity through community engagement efforts.
  • Develop measurable key performance indicators in collaboration with leadership.
