About The Position

The Community Engagement Specialist at Horses of Hope Oregon is responsible for enhancing community relationships, strengthening donor support, and increasing visibility through effective communication and outreach strategies. This part-time role involves managing social media platforms, website content, and marketing tools, assisting with donor development efforts, designing outreach programs, maintaining the organization's database, and participating in fundraising activities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in community engagement, marketing, or related fields (degree preferred but not required).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms, content creation tools, and website management (WordPress platform).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evening and weekends when necessary (work hours increase during events).
  • Passion for the mission of Horses of Hope Oregon and a genuine interest in community outreach and development.
  • Knowledge of equine-assisted services a plus but not required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic content plan across social media platforms to enhance engagement and grow followers.
  • Maintain and update the website to ensure accurate and engaging content.
  • Create marketing materials such as newsletters, brochures, press releases, and promotional items.
  • Monitor and analyze digital performance metrics, using insights to optimize campaigns.
  • Support donor relations through communications, acknowledgments, and cultivation events.
  • Assist in implementing donor recognition programs and strategies to increase donor retention.
  • Help coordinate fundraising campaigns and appeals, both online and offline.
  • Plan and implement outreach programs to engage local communities, schools, and partner organizations.
  • Represent Horses of Hope Oregon at community events, fairs, and networking opportunities.
  • Foster partnerships with local businesses and community leaders to expand support.
  • Manage and maintain donor databases, ensuring data accuracy and security.
  • Generate reports to support donor development, marketing, and outreach activities.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of fundraising events, including sponsorship outreach and event logistics.
  • Collaborate with team members to create compelling campaign narratives and donor experiences.
