Alumni Ventures (AV) is launching a new field-based pilot role designed to amplify our presence at high-value conferences, trade shows, and industry events nationwide. As a Community Engagement Specialist, you'll serve as AV's boots-on-the-ground ambassador; energizing event attendees, articulating our value proposition, and converting real-time conversations into qualified investor leads. This contractor role is ideal for an outgoing, confident, and highly persuasive communicator who thrives in live environments. You'll spend approximately 2 days per week working events across the country, 1 day documenting insights and leads, and 2 days preparing for upcoming activations. During your first month, you'll be based in AV's Manchester, NH headquarters to learn our brand, product offerings, and engagement framework. Requirements

  • 2-5+ years of relevant experience (sales, field marketing, promotions, brand ambassadorship, or live engagement roles)
  • Extroverted, approachable, and energized by meeting new people
  • Skilled communicator with a professional presence and persuasive verbal delivery
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and reliable, with strong follow-through
  • Comfortable navigating fast-paced environments and weekly travel
  • Competent with basic tech tools (QR code flows, lead capture forms, CRM basics)

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with venture capital, private markets, or financial services is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Represent AV at 80-100+ conferences, trade shows, and niche industry events annually
  • Drive booth engagement using creative conversation openers and polished, confident pitches
  • Educate prospective investors about the AV Syndicate and other investment pathways
  • Guide qualified prospects through early-stage onboarding (QR sign-ups, NDA steps, accreditation requirements)
  • Deliver detailed event recaps, including lead lists, qualitative learnings, and conversion metrics
  • Prepare for each activation by refining pitches, coordinating assets, and handling booth logistics
  • Maintain strong CRM hygiene and follow established lead capture protocols
  • Partner closely with the VP of Events and Marketing to evolve and optimize our booth playbook
