The Safe Harbor Hospital-Based Violence Intervention Program (HVIP) is a multidisciplinary program at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center serving victims of interpersonal and community violence. Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is a Level 1 Trauma Center and safety-net hospital that serves the Los Angeles Harbor and South Los Angeles communities. The Safe Harbor HVIP is a collaboration between the Division of Trauma Surgery, the Department of Emergency Medicine, and the Department of Social Work, in connection with our community partner, Southern California Crossroads. Our mission is to provide victims of interpersonal and community violence with intensive, long-term case management to help support their healing and recovery after trauma, to promote the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve, and to collaborate with organizations that promote community empowerment and sustainability. We are seeking a part-time Community Engagement Program Specialist to assist the HVIP in developing and strengthening our community engagement strategies.
