About The Position

The Community Engagement Manager is a vital member of the Growth Strategies team at Shared Hope International (SHI), responsible for activating, growing, and sustaining an engaged community that advances the organization’s mission and strategic goals. This role serves as a primary connector between SHI and its supporters by recruiting, training, and stewarding volunteers and community partners who are eager to help fulfill SHI’s mission to eradicate child sex trafficking. The position also oversees the coordination and logistical management of awareness collateral, training products, and public awareness and product orders to ensure resources are used efficiently and effectively. Blending relationship-building with operational excellence, the Community Engagement Manager must be highly organized, methodical, and comfortable using data and insights to guide outreach, programming, and decision-making. This is a fundraising-forward role that requires a compelling and confident communicator who can speak passionately and accurately about SHI’s mission while directly and indirectly soliciting financial support. The position additionally provides back-up support to front office operations as needed, contributing to a professional and mission-aligned external presence for the organization.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of professional business experience with proven knowledge of managing inventory is required.
  • High School degree minimum, with preference given to those with a bachelor’s degree
  • Proficient or greater level of computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Personable business demeanor with excellent interpersonal and public communication skills and comfort level.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail orientation, and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to manage various projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently and on deadline, with the ability to problem solve.
  • Able to work on a team as a trustworthy member.

Responsibilities

  • Community Engagement
  • Identify and secure opportunities to engage the community through events and strategic outreach initiatives.
  • Strategize with the Deputy to the President to envision and pursue potential collaborative projects and partnerships.
  • Maintain a detailed community engagement calendar and provide regular updates to the Growth Strategies team on these efforts.
  • In collaboration with the Deputy to the President, conceptualize and implement community engagement campaigns to generate new name acquisition and new donor and volunteer cultivation.
  • Regularly identify new funding opportunities and develop review summaries to present weekly to the Deputy to the President.
  • Maintain consistent, engaging communication with SHI’s supporter base to encourage ongoing involvement and action through email outreach.
  • Coordinator of Volunteers
  • Fosters ongoing relationships with community sources of volunteers for the Vancouver, WA office.
  • Coordinates the recruitment, orientation, training, supervision, and scheduling of volunteer workers.
  • Recruits and schedules additional volunteers for special seasonal SHI campaigns and assigns SHI tasks as appropriate based on the skillsets of volunteers.
  • Coordinator of Awareness & Educational Resources:
  • Coordinates the fulfillment of SHI educational resources and materials requests that come in via email([email protected]), phone, or from staff members.
  • Manages the daily handling of all collateral inventory and oversees Inventory control with monthly reconciliations and physical counts.
  • Informs the appropriate managers of the need for purchasing approval when the inventory is in need of restocking, updating, or replacing.
  • Responds daily to Inquiry emails coming into [email protected] based on established protocols, researches for correct responses and/or redirects as needed to appropriate alternative staff member.
  • Other Assignments
  • Serves as periodic support of administrative staff during vacations or absences (reception, phone support, donation processing, mailings, event administration).
  • Develops knowledge of and consistently implements all approved policies, protocols, and procedures of SHI.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
