About The Position

The Community Engagement Manager at JDRF is responsible for implementing and managing community engagement strategies that align with the organization's mission to improve the lives of individuals with type 1 diabetes (T1D). This role involves activating core programs, managing outreach initiatives, and building relationships with healthcare providers to enhance community support and resource distribution. The position requires collaboration with volunteers and stakeholders to drive mission progress and ensure effective communication within the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required with at least four years of related experience.
  • Successful experience in sales, communications, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of database management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint); experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Efficient time management skills and proven success in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to interface with corporate executives, healthcare providers, and all levels of staff and volunteers.

  • Experience in community engagement or non-profit sector.
  • Familiarity with type 1 diabetes and related healthcare issues.

Responsibilities

  • Activate Chapter plans in alignment with national Community Engagement (CE) strategy.
  • Implement core CE programming across the chapter geography, including Breakthrough T1D resources.
  • Manage the Outreach Volunteer Impact Initiative and Breakthrough T1D Community Summit.
  • Analyze data using national CE dashboards to identify growth opportunities.
  • Onboard new resource partners and build relationships with key healthcare providers.
  • Deliver consistent communication to healthcare providers and manage resource distribution processes.
  • Oversee the Outreach Ambassador Chair to ensure outreach to resource recipients.
  • Set strategy and program framework for Community Summits, including recruiting committee and speakers.
  • Identify Volunteer Leader prospects and strategize succession plans with the Leadership Team.
  • Recruit volunteers and manage chapter CE promotion plans and materials.
  • Collaborate with CE peers and participate in national CE trainings and working groups.
  • Recruit and coach New Walk Teams in the MTN market.
