About The Position

The Community Engagement Associate Manager at TreePeople is responsible for enhancing the organization's regional presence and supporting programmatic goals in the San Fernando Valley. This role involves guiding a regional team to implement innovative and sustainable strategies for community engagement, increasing volunteerism, and distributing program resources. The position requires participation in public events and collaboration with various stakeholders to promote environmental initiatives and foster community involvement.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience in project management.
• Experience with computer applications and database management.
• Interest in local climate resilience and environmental issues impacting underserved communities.
• Strong leadership, team-building, and problem-solving skills.
• Highly organized with a strong work ethic and proactive attitude.
• Available to work flexible schedules, including weekends.
• A driver's license and proof of insurance are required.
• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in project management, political science or related field.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to deliver accurate results.

Responsibilities

• Support regional project goals and community engagement objectives.
• Assist in creating outreach and engagement strategies to enhance community knowledge and participation.
• Act as a community liaison at public events such as town hall meetings and fundraisers.
• Lead efforts to engage the community and recruit diverse stakeholders.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate bilingual community outreach materials.
• Participate in volunteer tree planting and care events, assisting and supervising volunteers.
• Foster relationships to identify and develop community champions for TreePeople's initiatives.
• Maintain and manage volunteer and supporter contact information.
