We are always looking for driven, enthusiastic people to join our team. $750 Sign-On Bonus (Restrictions may apply) Summary Provides employment services, particularly job placement services, to individuals with disabilities generally assigned through OOD. Supervises job placement and job coaching staff as assigned. Maintains and creates local partnerships; markets and expands existing services; establishes cooperative agreements which extend service provision associated with the GESMV mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Rehabilitation, Psychology, Sociology, Education, or related field social services field or a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in field of vocational rehabilitation or similar area. Experience in the field may be substituted for bachelor’s degree.
  • Previous experience in vocational rehabilitation and supervision.

  • Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to GESMV’s liability insurance provider.

  • Ability to follow through with projects and assignments in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well with a broad spectrum of people, including consumers, employees, employers, community stakeholders and partners.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management and/or public groups.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, customers, funders or regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common financial reports and legal documents.
  • Excellent communication and written skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a caseload of assigned individuals seeking competitive job placement as referred by OOD and other funding sources. Provides comprehensive assessments, job seeking skills, career counseling, exploration, local labor market information, and development to job placement referrals.
  • Develop an Individual Employment Plan for each participant based on a Needs Assessment and update a minimum of quarterly.
  • Initiates contact with prospective employers to determine personnel needs and arranges interviews for applicants.
  • Assists applicants in contacting and obtaining interviews from appropriate perspective employers. Assists participants in identifying and resolving continuing barriers to employment as they may develop in the job search.
  • Meets or exceeds individual and departmental program goals as established with supervisor.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of a broad range of occupations and jobs as well as local employment, vocational, and educational resources.
  • Ensures staff adhere to all requirements related to specific funding sources. Maintains necessary records, submits weekly reports as required and provides input to referral sources regarding individual placement progress. Provides weekly and monthly reports to Quality Assurance. Ensures that paperwork is in compliance with GESMV guidelines and regulations. Monitors case records and report generation to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
  • Acts as primary liaison with local referring agencies ensures active communication regarding progress of all referrals. Maintains a positive relationship with personnel of referral and other social service agencies to the extent that mutual problems can be resolved and services adapted to meet the individual needs of common clientele.
  • Compiles necessary statistical data to ensure that participants are assisted in making timely and appropriate vocational decisions and so the accountability/requirements of the Agency can be satisfied.
  • Schedules referrals and assigns caseloads to staff.
  • Develops professional relationships with key organizational and community stakeholders through individual presentations, meetings, and other avenues to maintain ongoing contact.
  • Assists Director of Employment Services in identifying organizational and community meetings, task forces, or other ongoing meetings requiring GESMV representation. Attend meetings as assigned.
  • Provides advice, counsel, and instruction on work and administrative matters to staff.
  • Informs staff regarding new and changing policies, regulations, and directions pertinent to their job duties.
  • Evaluates staff performance and discusses performance and work improvement with supervisor.
  • Presents program, informally, to interested parties, relaying that interest to the Community Employment Manager or Director of Employment Services.
  • Administers the personnel and safety policies of the Agency so that each participant of the programs is treated consistently and fairly and that each has a maximum opportunity for personal, vocational, and professional growth.
  • Comply with all agency policies, procedures and safety standards and ensure safety training throughout areas supervised and maintain same to meet CARF, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.
