About The Position

The Community Educator PRN position at The Woman's Hospital of Texas involves teaching Childbirth and Parenting Classes or Support Groups under the supervision of the Director, Manager, and/or Coordinator of Childbirth and Parenting Education. The role emphasizes prioritizing patient care, identifying performance improvement opportunities, and advocating for patient health and rights. The educator is expected to communicate effectively with various departments to ensure continuity of care and demonstrate a positive attitude and initiative in achieving departmental goals.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • BLS Certification.
  • International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA) or Lamaze Certified Instructor or Breastfeeding Educator or AHA CPR Instructor or Registered Nurse preferred.
  • One year recent clinical or education experience required.
  • Three to five years recent clinical or education experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, personal initiative, and motivation to achieve unit goals.
  • Upholds the standards of the teaching profession and practices ethically and with integrity.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
