About The Position

The Community Director for East Neighborhood at Elon University is responsible for overseeing the management of a residential neighborhood housing 400-800 students. Requirements

  • Completed master's degree in higher education, student personnel, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Residence Life or a related functional area in higher education, including graduate assistantships/apprenticeships.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management of a residential neighborhood housing 400-800 students.
  • Supervise a Program Assistant, graduate apprentice, and residential student staff.
  • Maintain daily student contact through shared meals, mentoring, and facilitating programs.
  • Co-chair the neighborhood association with a live-in faculty member.
  • Collaborate with staff and faculty in living learning communities.
  • Develop community programs and initiatives.
  • Serve as a student conduct hearing officer.
  • Respond to student care and outreach needs, including on-call responsibilities.
  • Lead departmental efforts and initiatives.
