Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in administration of state and federal programs is desired.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • A combination of equivalent experience and/or education may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer federal and state grant applications, including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME programs.
  • Collaborate with the Neighborhood Development Specialist to prepare strategies and plans for various grants.
  • Conduct public hearings as required and develop programs and related contracts/agreements.
  • Coordinate program activities and monitor program budgets, compiling and submitting related reports.
  • Serve as the primary contact with the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) and other agencies on program compliance issues.
  • Administer IDIS program management data for CDBG and HOME project programs.
  • Conduct environmental reviews and ensure compliance with federal regulations, including the Davis-Bacon Act.
  • Support the City's historic preservation initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and laws.
  • Assist City accounting staff in maintaining financial records for the Redevelopment Authority, including accounts payable and fixed HUD assets.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
