As a Community Development Manager, you'll work directly within assigned territories to meet the needs of each community by boosting Girl Scout visibility and increasing memberships. In this role, you will empower girls in grades K-12 (primarily K-5). Throughout the year, you'll connect girls and volunteers to Girl Scout opportunities, recruit new members and support families in year-round engagement through community events.

  • Drive Girl Scout membership goals to include girl and adult annual memberships.
  • Implement key membership campaigns throughout the year by creating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders (schools, community organizations, religious institutions, etc.) to exceed membership goals.
  • Implement volunteer program management to ensure excellent support to volunteers and Girl Scout troops ensuring that all required trainings are up to date and volunteers have received all necessary training.
  • Provide ongoing support, supervision, and direction to troop volunteers by interpreting Girl Scouts of the USA and council policies, standards, and procedures and directing volunteers to additional support services.
  • Provide timely problem solving and conflict resolution, support, or intervention when appropriate.
  • Ensure excellent support and customer service to volunteers and parents through communication, education, and recognition to support the achievement of council program and customer experience targets.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive community plan for each service unit that engages and prepares volunteers, parents and community organizations to provide girls with a high-quality, progressive Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
  • Cultivate and collaborate with local schools, community organizations and networks to increase visibility and opportunities for girls, recruit volunteers, and increase program and funding partnerships to meet council objectives.
  • Provide support to Council-strategic initiatives including Fall Product and Cookie sales, camps, and fund development efforts through department and project teamwork.
  • Experience working in diverse communities, designing, and delivering programs across various schools and locations within the Cincinnati area.
  • Skilled in balancing administrative tasks and program preparation and have hands-on engagement with girls, with a track record of fostering their growth and achievements in personal development and within the Girl Scouts organization.
  • Networking abilities and built meaningful connections with local organizations and community leaders to enhance program impact and community support.
  • High School diploma or any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Minimum of one year experience managing volunteers or staff.
  • Minimum of one year experience in recruitment, business development or experience that demonstrates the ability to recruit.
  • Experience with community networking and relationship/partnership development, including knowledge of local school systems, administrations, and policies desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Valid state driver's license and a vehicle for work within the region (mileage reimbursed).
