About The Position

The Community Development Field Services Assistant Apprenticeship is a full-time, at-will position funded through the Californians for All Youth Jobs Corps grant. This apprenticeship is designed to empower the next generation of public servants by providing gainful employment along with innovative training, professional development opportunities, and mentorship. The program is budgeted for a duration of 13 months, with an estimated program period from November 2024 to December 2025. While post-apprenticeship employment opportunities may be available, they are not guaranteed. In this role, the Community Development Field Services Assistant will play a crucial part in maintaining the high standards of the City of Irvine by providing administrative and technical support to the code enforcement and inspection teams. The position involves performing fieldwork and delivering exceptional customer service to residents. Candidates who are passionate about serving their community and have an interest in Community Development will find this apprenticeship to be an excellent opportunity. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including homeowners, tenants, businesses, and city departments, to educate and inform them about codes, ordinances, and regulations.
