This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, facility maintenance, staff supervision and development, and recreational programming at our Mayor William Beardall Senior Center. This community center is dedicated to serving the unique social, physical, and mental enrichment needs of the senior community by offering tailored recreational and wellness activities. The position requires a dynamic, service-oriented leader who is passionate about enhancing the quality of life for seniors through innovative programs and community engagement. A community center differs from a regional center in that it does not have a gymnasium, has moderate attendance and revenue levels, is typically open six (6) days a week, and may host active outside groups. This position reports to a Recreation District Manager. Work is reviewed through reports, conferences, achievement of performance goals, and the overall effectiveness of results achieved. Some positions are assigned to outdoor facilities/parks, and employees may be exposed to weather conditions, including extreme heat.
