About The Position

Our region is building something special- called the Alaska South Coast Partnership (ASCP) , we are a growing network of community leaders responding to the challenges and opportunities of the Alaskan Southcoast (the Alutiiq and Eyak homeland). Informed by indigenous values, we’re inviting passionate, community-rooted individuals to step into the role of Community Catalyst and help shape the next chapter of cultural, ecological, and economic sustainability in our home. Responsibilities

  • Stay Grounded in Community: Report directly to the Tribal organization or partner that hires and supports you. Keep the work locally rooted, culturally grounded, and responsive to your community’s priorities.
  • Connect Regionally: Participate in all ASCP team meetings. Help build and maintain the essential components of a thriving partnership — from communication systems to shared processes and goals.
  • Share and Learn Together: Take part in regular peer learning and communication across the Catalyst team to foster collective knowledge, creativity, and momentum.
  • Be a Bridge: Identify and share key local events, knowledge, or opportunities that can inform and enrich broader partnership activities.
  • Support Local Action: Help plan and carry out community-led projects that support local resilience — from subsistence and environmental planning to storytelling, data collection, or cultural events.
  • Attend Tribal Council meetings to gather input and provide updates
  • Contribute to local climate action plans or grant applications
  • Support sharing of traditional knowledge related to land, sea, and culture
  • Participate in regional trainings and gatherings to deepen your skills and relationships
