About The Position

Help us get out the vote! We are looking for a team of canvassers to help us reach voters who deserve a voice in this election. From now through May 19th, our team is connecting directly with voters on the ground through door-to-door outreach. At a time when many Oregonians feel unsafe and uncertain, facing attacks on reproductive rights, threats to immigrant communities, and ongoing economic instability, we need to elect leaders that will fight for the progressive values we hold as a community. This role is a great opportunity to gain experience in the following areas: Leadership, Communication & Advocacy, Community Outreach & Engagement, Campaign Work, Public Policy, and Social Enterprise. Get paid well! Canvassing positions start at $22/hour. Team Lead positions start at $24/hour. We offer overtime pay, shift bonuses, paid training, and sick pay. If you are a fluent bilingual speaker, you may earn an additional $2 per hour. We are hiring immediately, all positions may run through 5/19/26 with possibilities for advancement afterwards. Shifts run from 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM weekdays and weekends with the possibility to work part-time or full-time.

Requirements

Passionate about progressive politics and fostering democracy
Strong communication skills; you should enjoy working with other people and be willing and excited to speak with everyone
Hard worker who will stay motivated to engage as many people as possible
Open to new challenges and are interested in building their campaign skills
Culturally competent and able to respectfully engage with teammates and the community
Employees must be eligible to work in the US.
Upon hire, everyone will be required to present original, and unexpired documents from the Lists of Acceptable Documents to complete the I-9 form verification.

Nice To Haves

Prior canvassing experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Engage with the public in a friendly and respectful manner
Deliver a compelling campaign message, and collect complete survey answers from voters
Participate in staff training to improve outreach skills
Follow the campaign's safety protocols
Manage a small group of canvassers out in the field by checking in with them periodically throughout the day, and debriefing with them at the end of the day
Ensure each canvasser has all of the materials they need to be successful
Assist directors with canvasser training and administrative work
