We provide our employees a top-rated benefits package, supportive work culture, and more! Community Based Therapist The Therapist provides outpatient behavioral health therapy to clients. Clinical supervision will be provided by an independently licensed therapist/social worker. The Therapist works in collaboration with other clinical staff and community support providers to provide high quality integrated services.

Requirements

  • Master’s Social Work degree from accredited educational institution.
  • Current Social LMSW, LISW, LMHC, or LMFT license with State of Iowa.
  • Knowledge in crisis intervention techniques and brief therapy.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Clinical experience in evaluation/assessment and multi-axial diagnoses of adolescents and adults in various stages of the developmental cycle.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reasonably able to de-escalate a client utilizing BMC-trained philosophies.
  • Experience engaging and treating at risk and minority populations.
  • Ability to complete electronic charting and documentation.
  • Microsoft office experience.
  • Valid Iowa Driver’s License with proof of individual insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Functions autonomously in providing therapy services to clients with a variety of acute and chronic mental health conditions.
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the patient’s care team.
  • Conducts intake assessments as assigned.
  • Provides clinical consultation and educational programs to BMC staff and/or community agency program personnel as needed.
  • Maintains involvement with in-service training experiences.
  • Provides services off-site as needed.
  • Maintains current documentation of all clinical services provided in accordance with department and organization standards.
  • Attends and actively participates in clinical department meetings.
  • Provides reasonable clinical oversight to other staff as needed.
  • Maintains current Iowa Social Work/LMHC/LMFT License.
  • Works to develop camaraderie with fellow therapists and contribute positively to the team dynamic.
  • Facilitates referrals to medication management providers, case management, and/or patient navigator when appropriate.
  • Complements Community Based Services by offering therapy, assessments, consultations, problem solving services, etc.
  • Offers continuity of care and therapeutic transitional services between in-patient and outpatient care with the potential for in-home therapy.
  • Engages low income and at-risk populations through naturalistic methods.
  • Embraces and supports Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
