Community Based Direct Support Professional 1391

The Arc of Bristol County is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Based Direct Support Professional to provide one-on-one support and care to individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities (IDD) in community settings. This part-time position offers a pay rate of $20 per hour and requires a commitment to assist individuals in achieving their personal goals, building independent living skills, enhancing social connections, and participating in community activities. The role is scheduled for Monday to Friday, with shifts available from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm or 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. As a Direct Support Professional, you will utilize a person-centered approach to support individuals in developing and achieving their unique personal goals. This may include facilitating participation in community activities, building independent living skills, enhancing social connections, and achieving other goals that are important to the individual. Effective time management and communication skills are essential for success in this role, as you will be responsible for maintaining regular communication with individuals, their families, and other support staff to ensure the continuity and quality of care provided. In addition to providing direct support, you will be responsible for accurately documenting all services provided in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. You will also create and maintain a community network through community mapping to identify and access resources that promote the individual's growth and development. The position requires the ability to provide compassionate care and support to individuals with IDD while respecting their individuality and promoting their independence. You will be expected to complete all program-required training and provide personal care, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), to ensure individuals' well-being and comfort.
