About The Position

Understand and appropriately engage the faith community support of unhoused neighbors in collaboration with the Bureau Homeless Services. Analysis of the eco-system of faith community providers who support neighbors experiencing homelessness to create a database of services and brochure for use by BPHC staff members to provide referrals for shelter guests.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the role of public health in addressing racism, the social determinants of health, and inequities in health outcomes as well as strategies to advance racial justice and health equity.
  • Commitment to health equity and racial/social justice
  • Awareness and knowledge of needs of people experiencing homelessness.
  • Awareness and knowledge of the faith community eco-system in greater
  • High level of skill in database and presentation applications.

Responsibilities

  • Work to help BPHC advance as an antiracist organization by meeting or exceeding the standards set by the BPHC Anti-Racism Policy.
  • Conduct landscape analysis of service providers in faith communities who support neighbors experiencing
  • Develop database of support services from service providers in faith communities available to guest in the emergency shelters.
  • Develop brochure of support services from service providers in faith communities available to guest in the emergency shelters.
