About The Position

We’re seeking someone to join the External Affairs team as an Associate in Community Affairs to coordinate the execution of the Firm's employee engagement programs including volunteering, giving and matching programs with a coverage focus on the Wealth Management business. This is an Associate level position within the Community Affairs department. Community Affairs is responsible for the Firm’s charitable efforts including corporate and foundation giving, employee volunteering, giving and engagement, and communications and reporting around philanthropic efforts for the Firm. What you'll do in the role: Volunteer Programs: Works with the team in support of year-round and campaign volunteer efforts: Work with Morgan Stanley Foundation partners to develop engagement opportunities for employees across 600+ offices in the US focusing on children's health and education initiatives Support Volunteer Campaign Managers with project scoping, execution and reporting for the businesses during Global Volunteer Month Campaign Support Volunteer Managers year-round by working with nonprofit partners and employees to plan and execute volunteer projects (includes logistics for on-site and off-site volunteer projects including room reservations and set-ups, supply deliveries, volunteer check-in and coordinating bus transportation) Maintain employee volunteerism website; posts volunteer opportunities, records volunteer hours; reporting and follows-up with employees as needed Grant and Partnership Support: Support Volunteer Grants program by reviewing employee applications, conducting due diligence and nonprofit outreach/responses Manage museum and cultural institution corporate memberships, including annual renewals, relationship management, and the administration of employee benefits General Program Support Respond to general inquiries about Community Affairs programs and activities on the department telephone line and inbox Provide additional program support as needed to team The ideal candidate will have the following professional experience and personal qualities Take accountability for completion of assigned projects Operate collaboratively as part of a team and support projects and initiatives when required Deliver solutions that appropriately balance Firm and clients' / stakeholders' needs Continually look for ways to meet and exceed key business priorities, factoring in team/department priorities Maintain commitment to deliver results in the face of complex business priorities and potential challenges What you'll bring to the role: Understanding of business, operating environment, and discipline Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and as a self-starter Excellent communication, writing, judgment, and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail with persistence, tenacity and drive for results BA and 4 years of work experience; related engagement program experience a strong plus Strong planning, administrative, and organizational skills; attention to detail a must Self-starter, resourceful, and a team player Flexibility and ability to deal with changing priorities, manage time efficiently and meet deadlines, Proven ability to multi-task WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY: We are committed to maintaining the first-class service and high standard of excellence that have defined Morgan Stanley for over 89 years. Job Posting Pay Range Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $95,000 and $140,000 year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
