About The Position

The Community Affairs Manager (CAM) at U.S. Bank is responsible for positioning the bank as a leader in community engagement and achieving Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals in the Minnesota market. This role involves developing grantmaking strategies, managing community investments, and fostering relationships with local organizations to drive community impact. The CAM will also oversee employee engagement initiatives and ensure alignment with the bank's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Typically seven or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong management and analysis skills.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in strategic planning.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a grantmaking strategy for community grants, investments, and civic sponsorships in Minnesota.
  • Cultivate relationships with community, civic, and nonprofit organizations to position U.S. Bank as a trusted partner.
  • Direct local employee engagement strategy, including volunteerism and board placements.
  • Incorporate U.S. Bank's ESG and DEI goals into stakeholder engagement.
  • Use data to inform community affairs and business outreach decisions.
  • Assess nonprofit organizations for grantmaking and provide technical assistance to applicants.
  • Build recognition for U.S. Bank's community investments and represent the bank at community meetings.
  • Develop effective relationships with all lines of business and communicate philanthropic strategies.
  • Guide market leaders in achieving Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) performance and assist with CRA processes.
  • Coordinate local relief efforts in response to community crises.
