About The Position

The Community Access Specialist serves as the first point of contact for individuals seeking assistance from Healing House, Inc. This role plays a key part in connecting individuals to essential resources and support services while maintaining a welcoming and clean environment at the Recovery Community Center. Additionally, you will facilitate groups and provide follow-up care to former participants, ensuring continuity of care and support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, especially those impacted by substance use disorder, mental health challenges, or homelessness.
  • Basic knowledge of community resources and social services.
  • CPS or MRSS Certification or must be enrolled to obtain credentials
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Service-oriented with the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to execute tasks efficiently.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering results.

Responsibilities

  • Answering Phone Calls: Serve as the primary point of contact for all incoming phone calls, offering information, assistance, and direction as needed.
  • Resource Connection: Identify and connect individuals with appropriate community and social resources based on their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Group Facilitation: Facilitate group sessions when needed, fostering a supportive, inclusive, and safe environment for all participants.
  • Aftercare Follow-ups: Conduct routine follow-up calls with former Healing House participants to assess their well-being, quality of life, and offer ongoing support or resources as necessary.
  • Support for RCC Manager and Community Outreach Manager: Work closely with the RCC Manager and Community Outreach Manager, providing support and executing tasks as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the center.
  • Target Population: Support individuals referred from the Healing House program, including both current and former participants, as well as individuals from the Healing House aftercare program and the broader community.
  • Goal of the Position: Ensure that all individuals associated with the Healing House receive the guidance, support, and resources necessary to thrive in their communities. Create and maintain a safe, welcoming space at the Community Outreach Center for those in need.
