About The Position

As a Communications Technician 4 in Network Maintenance at Comcast, located in Tupelo, MS, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and quality of our telecommunications services. This position involves performing routine troubleshooting calls, conducting surveys, and executing locates and outage repairs in accordance with Comcast's established procedures and practices. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving service failures related to various Comcast products, including Video (both analog and digital), Comcast Digital Voice (CDV), and Comcast High-Speed Data (CHSI), which encompasses Home Networking and Home Plug services. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining the integrity of our network and ensuring customer satisfaction. In this role, you will be expected to perform a variety of tasks, including climbing poles and ladders, operating aerial lifts, and using basic cable test equipment. You will conduct underground location of existing plant infrastructure to prevent cable damage and service interruptions, and you will respond to service interruptions during regular business hours, as well as during on-call duty. Your work may require you to perform construction maintenance duties, such as splicing aerial and underground coaxial cables, repairing damaged plant, and inspecting power supplies. You will also be responsible for maintaining and stocking your vehicle and equipment, ensuring that you are prepared for daily responsibilities. Additionally, you will engage with customers to review requested services, survey installation routes, and educate them on the use of Comcast products and services. This position requires a strong understanding of safety procedures, as you will be working near power lines and in various environmental conditions. You will also need to demonstrate knowledge of relevant codes and regulations, including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA). Overall, your role will be pivotal in delivering high-quality service and support to our customers, while adhering to Comcast's operational principles and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
