About The Position

The Communications Specialist will support the Spokesperson and communication team in developing, writing, and preparing written material for delivery by the High Representative and senior management. This role involves managing communications, both external and internal, between senior management and a wide range of audiences, including media. The incumbent will perform day-to-day tactical communications such as social media posts, news items, letters, and informational updates, aiming to build a strong, bold, sharp, and principle-based brand. The position also requires collaboration with UN departments, funds, and agencies to implement and collaborate on campaigns system-wide, incorporating campaign messages into relevant events and products. The role includes identifying problems and proposing corrective actions, researching and analyzing information that may impact UNAOC's work, and drafting speeches, statements, and talking points for senior management. Additionally, the Communications Specialist will maintain media networks, write articles and opinion pieces, monitor media for stories related to UNAOC activities, and oversee the preparation of various communication products.
