About The Position

The Communications Specialist is responsible for creating and developing well-written content, advertisements, promotional materials, and public relations pieces across a wide range of channels to engage current SeaComm members and increase awareness in the community.

Requirements

  • One year to three years of similar or related experience.
  • A college degree (BA or BS in relevant field) or equivalent work experience.
  • Teamwork and collaboration are a must, as is the ability to receive feedback and act on it.
  • This role requires someone who understands the SeaComm brand and can communicate it in a positive and upbeat manner.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement content and concepts for advertisements working in conjunction with the Creative Specialist and Marketing and Communications Manager.
  • Write content for the social media channels owned by SeaComm.
  • Assist with social media giveaways and contests.
  • Write, publish, and maintain the content on SeaComm's website and corresponding physical materials.
  • Create and manage forms for collecting data.
  • Produce articles for SeaComm's publications including The Advisor, Kids Corner, Your Bottom Line.
  • Write Press Releases and Donation Photos for publication
  • Create content for SeaComm's Weekly Wave Blog and Podcast.
  • Create materials for the weekly email to our members, based on current promotions and initiatives.
  • Write and edit marketing letters and other communications pieces for the Credit Union.
  • Assist with creating monthly reports to show usage and growth of marketing channels, as well as year-over-year trends.
  • Assist with department events, including Beyond the Branch, and any community-related initiatives.
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends in Marketing and Communications to advise on new approaches or channels to engage and capture market area.
  • Perform other duties for the Marketing and Communications Department as assigned.
