About The Position

The Communications Specialist at Hudson Valley Credit Union is responsible for managing internal communications to enhance employee engagement and ensure alignment with the organization's strategic goals. This role involves developing communication strategies, coordinating content, and administering the intranet system to support a consistent employee experience. The specialist will also assist with external communications as needed, ensuring that all messaging reflects HVCU's core values and business priorities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in developing and delivering organizational communication.
• Minimum 2 years of experience managing content using an intranet platform.
• Experience in a Credit Union or Financial Institution preferred.
• Web Design and Project Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and coordinate day-to-day communications such as organizational updates, staff newsletters, and benefit news to engage and educate staff.
• Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal communication strategies for various initiatives and projects.
• Build strong relationships with organizational leaders to align communications with business goals and strategies.
• Develop content and communication strategies for internal channels including the intranet and digital displays.
• Support employee engagement initiatives and manage communication systems administration.
• Assist in developing communication protocols to enhance employee engagement and achieve strategic objectives.
• Maintain an organizational calendar of employee-related events for centralized communication.
• Evaluate communication strategy effectiveness through engagement measurement and statistical analysis.
• Provide external communications assistance as needed.
• Adhere to Credit Union policies and participate in required training and development.
