The Communications Specialist III writes, edits, and assists in the production of informational and promotional materials, presentations and marketing events. This position develops and executes written and digital communications to enhance the visibility and reputation of the Galveston Campus. Responsibilities include researching, writing, and editing news releases, marketing materials, and special publications that highlight research, teaching, service, and student success. The role also involves maintaining an editorial calendar, creating content for print and digital platforms, and supporting a comprehensive, multi-channel communications strategy. Additionally, the position supports digital, social media, and public relations efforts by promoting stories across multiple platforms, assisting with event publicity, and coordinating media responses. The role contributes to increasing campus awareness through strategic storytelling, visual content, and brand-aligned messaging, while performing other duties as assigned.
